Barn Dance for Haiti

Come One, Come All to the Barn Dance for Haiti!

Please join us for this family-friendly social event on Saturday, May 11th in the parish hall from 6 to 8:30 p.m. (light refreshments included). The dance is a fundraiser for our Haiti outreach partners and allows us to continue funding student scholarships for Haitian nursing and therapy students. It will also help support the Children’s Nutrition Program in Haiti.

What is a barn dance, you ask? Traditionally held in barns, but now held in any building designed for large group events, a barn dance is an informal social gathering for the purpose of dancing in circle, square, and line formations to lively traditional tunes. A caller walks people through the dances and then prompts them in time with the music. No prior dance experience of any kind is required, and if you’re not up for dancing, come watch the fun and listen to some great music!

We have assembled a star-studded line-up of well-known local musicians who will be performing live for the dance including Alan Kaufman (fiddle), Vern Imrich (guitar), Alice Bouvrie (fiddle), David Gow (fiddle/ mandolin) and Gian Criscitiello (bass). In addition, St. Paul’s very own Beth Parkes will be the caller and Judy Criscitiello will also be on fiddle!

Doors open at 6:00pm. We will have two 45-minute sets of dancing, with the first starting at 6:30, a break for refreshments, and another 45-minute set. All ages are welcome, but children under 8 should be supervised by an adult at all times. This promises to be a fun-filled evening for all ages!

Tickets are $25 for ages 13+, $5 for kids 12 & under, and $60 for a family. Tickets will be available at coffee hour the 3 weeks preceding the event AND on-line starting April 7th: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/barn-dance-for-haiti-tickets-864755816927?aff=oddtdtcreator
