Barn Dance for Haiti

  • Come one, come all to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Barn Dance for Haiti on Saturday, October 25!
  • Please join us for this family-friendly social event (open to the public) in the St. Paul’s (100 Pine Hill Road) parish hall from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
  • Hearty refreshments will be prepared and served by our friend and Haitian Chef, Jocelyn Aurelian.

What is a barn dance, you ask? Traditionally held in barns but now held in any building designed for large group events, a barn dance is an informal social gathering for the purpose of dancing in circle, square, and line formations to lively traditional tunes. A caller walks people through the dances and then prompts them in time with the music. No prior dance experience of any kind is required, and if you’re not up for dancing, come watch the fun and listen to some great music.

We have assembled a star-studded line-up of well-known local musicians who will be performing live for the dance, including Jon Anderson (fiddle), Alice Bouvrie (fiddle), Vern Imrich (guitar), Aaron Oppenheimer (mandolin), and Gian Criscitiello (bass). In addition, St. Paul’s parishioners Beth Parkes will be the caller and Judy Criscitiello will also be on fiddle!
