Advent and Christmas at St. Paul’s

Please join us at our Advent and Christmas services! Friends, family, newcomers, visitors, and neighbors are all warmly welcome.

 

Saturday, December 9
5:00 p.m. Advent Lessons and Carols. An evening of music and readings to prepare for the Christ Child, featuring works by Mendelssohn and Handel, plus the premiere of a new work by Director of Music Michael Monroe, based on a poem by Madeleine L’Engle. St. Paul’s adult and youth choirs will perform, along with guest string quartet and organist Nathan Skinner. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

Sunday, December 10: Second Sunday of Advent
10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist. Nursery care provided. Children and youth practice for the Christmas pageant during the service. 
5:30 p.m. High School Youth meet to decorate cookies for our caroling event.

Saturday, December 16
10:00 a.m. Pageant rehearsal (leads only)
10:30 a.m. Pageant rehearsal (all participants)
6:30 p.m. High School Youth: Las Posadas event with Diomass Youth, at San Lucas/St. Luke’s, Chelsea

Sunday, December 17: Third Sunday of Advent
10:00 a.m. Christmas Pageant, with Holy Eucharist
5:00 p.m. Caroling and Progressive Supper, beginning with appetizers at the Mitchells’ home

Sunday, December 24: Christmas Eve
10:00 a.m. “Stations of Advent” Contemplative Service: four meditations on Advent themes, with simple music and Holy Communion. A children’s program will be offered in the Parish Hall with Rev. Rachel.
3:00 p.m. Family Christmas Eve Eucharist with Youth Choir and Carols
9:30 p.m. Carol Sing
10:00 p.m. Festival Christmas Eucharist with Adult Choir and Sermon

Monday, December 25: Christmas Day
10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist with Christmas Carols
